Coaches will break down their swing mechanics, stance and speed! This Softball instructional program is to get better hitting and get better at seeing pitches, increasing your velocity!
We emphasize core techniques, swing mechanics, hitting for power, plate zone identification, using strength building techniques with speed and agility !

SMSBA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Santa Monica, Ca that has been in existence since 2018. Our goal is to prepare each level of our players with proper fundamentals, developing them into great softball players and leaders on and. We prepare our players' s focus on high school and collegiate level
Professional softball player May 2005 to October 2019
After her division 1 all American college softball career, she went on to play the highest level professional softball in various countries and locations around the world. Including the US , the Netherlands. Italy, and Asia. She was a pitcher, hitter and first baseman, and accomplished in all positions at high statistical performance levels, and would start in every line up at either position and as a hitter.
She is currently the Marymount High School assistant varsity coach and pitching coach.

Mariela played at Los Angeles Harbor College and then took her talents to Graceland University in Iowa. Still playing! She now pitches for an all-women’s U-trip team. Mariela has coached all ages and all levels of softball as a private pitching instructor and high school coach for over 8 years. She is the pitching coach for the SMSBA 10u and 12U Club teams!
SMSBA welcomes Coach Ilene to the team! A former varsity player, she started her collegiate softball career at Pasadena City College. She then received a Division 1 scholarship to play at Alcorn State University! After her playing career, she remained at Alcorn as the Graduate Assistant Coach for 3 years. During her time as a Graduate Assistant, Coach Ilene coached at clinics/camps and now brings her talent to SMSBA!
She was the starting center fielder on varsity all four years of High School and and played travel ball at an elite level! She now plays softball at Alderson Broaddus University, leads her team with a .348 batting average and the highest fielding percentage! She coached with us all summer and is a top coach with SMSBA!
A standout varsity high school player, Coach Aileen is currently playing middle infield at Santa Monica College! She is one of the coaches for our SMSBA 10U and 12U teams. She loves coaching the younger players at our camps and clinics!

While there are no games on the off days you train! SMSBA coaches will use social distancing training with hand sanitizers to keep you on your game! Player and coach wear masks and work as a team to social distance train!
Our instructional youth softball pitching program & Catching program introduces the fundamentals of pitching or catching and we have intermediate and advance training. This developmental program is designed for 6-17 year old participants, with a direct emphasis on learning the primary fundamentals that lay down the foundation for elite play in pitching or catching for softball.
Each week players came to our pitching clinic to learn the fundamentals of pitching.
Each week players built upon what they had learned previously to get a strong foundation of learning!
SMGFP players trained with our coaches each week on the proper footwork and mechanics for pitching!
Each week, beginner catchers, intermediate and advanced players worked on proper footwork and mechanics for the catching position!
Players learned how to properly play the catcher position and be better defensively on the field.
